In Part 7 of my 2014 bike tour of Houston with Andrew Groocock of the Professional Tour Guide Association of Houston, we ride over to the George H.W. Bush Monument and take in the beautiful view of the downtown skyline available from this spot. Andrew then tells us how Bush and Terry Hershey kept Buffalo Bayou from being concreted in, thus making it one of the city’s most natural bayous today.

Up next is Part 8, where we’ll head over to the Downtown Aquarium, which was formerly the site of Houston Fire Station 1.
