Let ReDesign Inspire Your Design

You may already know about Boulevard Realty’s Rediscovering Houston blog…I hope you do anyway, because that’s where you can find my full Heights Dining Guide! But did you know we have an entirely separate blog that’s less about our home city and instead centers on how to just feel at home? That would be our ReDesign blog. Where Rediscovering Houston focuses on everything cool about Houston, especially things we think are flying below the radar, ReDesign is chiefly concerned with design trends inside and outside the home. I really do believe that design is central to creating a space/lifestyle that keeps us going, gives us a place to retreat from a hard day’s work, and simply allows us to find our joy.

One of the things that sets Boulevard Realty apart from other Houston real estate firms, and one of the reasons I love being here, is our full suite of design-build services—we call it our ReDesign team, and it is made up of several full-time staff members who specialize in everything from design to architecture to construction. I’ve been known to call on the expertise of Bill (my broker), Frank (our project manager and an architect by training), and Brandon (Bill’s longtime assistant and a builder himself) for a range of remodeling and repair input for my listings, buyers, and even my own historic home here in the Heights.

Boulevard is especially lucky to have Maria on board. She’s a design specialist trained in Europe as an interior architect who is available to our clients for consultation, free of charge. She helps me stay on top of design trends to best assist my clients, whether they’re trying to update/renovate their home for themselves or get it ready for the market. The ReDesign blog is an important extension of her design services.

From Photo Of The Day posts about what’s trending in design, to posts capturing transformations of various Boulevard Realty listings, the blog is meant to give clients and colleagues direct access to the latest design trends and inspiration from the perspective of a realtor, resource, and friend. In September of 2016, I’m proud to say my listing at 2805 Morrison, and its remodeled kitchen, was featured in one of those transformation posts.

Morrison had initially lingered on the market for about 5 months, and we figured it had a lot to do with the outdated kitchen. So, working with Bill Baldwin Restoration, another name for Boulevard’s boutique design-build team, I was able to guide my clients through a comprehensive kitchen remodel that undoubtedly played a major role in getting the home sold. After updating the kitchen, the home was under contract in just a couple of weeks! Design matters.

There are plenty of other transformation posts on the blog for those of you who love a good “before and after”, but the foundation of the blog is its numerous posts highlighting current design trends, whether that be in the form of color, texture, space, function, style, mood, inspiration, structure, or something else entirely. You’ll find posts about trends that inspired the Morrison remodel, and will still remain popular in 2018 (like white interiors and subway tile), as well as ones about newer trends, like Benjamin Moore’s colors for 2018.
