After a long work day, it’s nice to be able to come home to a place that’s all ours and one where the pressures of our job can be placed on the backburner. Even for those of us who don’t work the traditional 9 to 5, or whose job requires them to continue working even after they’re home for the day, we want our home to be a stress free environment. A space that makes us happy. Our refuge, our retreat, our haven. The last thing we want is for our home to be a messy, unorganized place that adds unnecessary stress to our life and makes it hard to relax. Unfortunately, sometimes this may seem to be an unavoidable problem for someone living a busy, hectic life.

Luckily, House Logic is here with a few useful resources full of nifty ways to stop the stress at the front door.

  • Super-Busy People Reveal Their Habits for a Tranquil Home

    • Amy Howell Hirt interviews three hard-working entrepreneurs about how they get the most out of their homes and turn them into stress-relieving sanctuaries. Their secrets to success and a happy home range from having a blissful nook where they can relax and get away from it all to having a drop zone to separate work from home. For three people who lead uber busy lives, they show that having things in order at home can be a real life changer.

  • 11 Habits for a Totally Chill Home

    • Hirt shares 11 more strategies/habits for getting/keeping your home in order and turning it into a Zen space right here. Tips include things like getting rid of items that don’t currently serve a purpose or make you feel good, making time and space for your hobby, and taking tech time-outs daily.

  • 9 Habits for a Home That Always Feels Neat and Fresh

    • This handy chart has 9 simple habits that will go a long way when trying to keep your home clean and decluttered. Keeping the kitchen sink empty and creating a doorway box for items to take to Goodwill are a couple of the recommended practices.

If you can adopt even half of these habits/strategies, I think you’ll notice a significant change for the better in your home life. You’ll be smiling a lot more, stressing out a lot less, and simply put, you’ll be feeling more at home.
