Montrose is known as a very eccentric, vibrant and diverse neighborhood centrally located in Houston. Developed by J.W. Link in 1911, it consists of many bungalows with wide porches and suburban cottages. That being said, the neighborhood is transitioning to more upscale with new houses and townhouses popping up all over. Known as a popular nesting place for artists, musicians and writers, the neighborhood has a certain Bohemian flavor to it. A varied assortment of unique bars, cafés and restaurants draw many to the area.
